Event Coordinator
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Temporary Community Programs and Events Coordinator to support the smooth running of community programs, workshops,and market events. This role involves coordinating volunteers, assigning tasks during market days, organizing workshops and community activations, and managing Torba Market’s presence at third-party events.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Volunteer Coordination
Collaborate with local artists, educators, and facilitators to deliver meaningful community programs and workshops that enhance visitor engagement and promote sustainability.
Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers for weekly market operations.
Assign clear tasks and responsibilities to volunteers and ensure smooth execution.
Provide on-site support and guidance to volunteers during events and markets.
Maintain volunteer records and assist in creating a positive and inclusive volunteer culture.
2. Event & Workshop Coordination
Manage all bookings and scheduling for Torba Junior activities at the market, ensuring smooth coordination with parents, facilitators, and internal teams.
Plan and coordinate workshops and community activities in the market space.
Liaise with artists, educators, and other facilitators for workshop delivery.
Ensure all event logistics are managed, including materials, setup, and participant coordination.
Support post-event evaluations and feedback collection.
3. Third-Party Event Representation
Coordinate Torba Market’s participation in external events (e.g., festivals, popups, collaborations).
Ensure setup, branding, and materials are prepared and aligned with Torba’s image.
Act as a representative of Torba Market at o-site events, engaging with the public and partners.
Coordinate with vendors, partners, and internal teams for external event logistics.
Key Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in events coordination or community program management.
Strong volunteer management and people skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication skills—written and verbal.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some evenings.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in fast-paced environments.
Experience working with community-focused or sustainability-driven initiatives is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Must be available for weekend market days and occasional evening events.
Some physical tasks may be required (event setup, materials handling, etc.).
Travel to third-party event locations may be necessary.
