JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Perform condition monitoring of I&E Equipment utilizing available test equipment and to support I&E Reliability Engineers in identification of opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performing failure analyses and in maintaining compliance to all statutory and regulatory requirements as per company standards and policies.
4.1 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Day-to-day Accountabilities and Reporting
- Implementation of safe work practices to ensure that no unsafe acts are committed either by his own self or contract manpower working under his supervision.
- Provide Full Support to Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineers in achieving their business linked objectives.
- Condition Monitoring & Inspection of Field equipment on time, as per schedule.
- Maintain and calibrate all test and inspection tools as per schedule.
- Knowledgeable about discipline-related plant equipment regarding past failure history and modifications performed.
- Support Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineers in review of Maintenance procedures/ITPM checklists and suggest improvements.
- Provide support to Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineers in updating of Instrument & Electrical equipment data in SAP and ECM.
- Support Instrument & Electrical Reliability group in ensuring MICE/IPS lists are kept up do date in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Assist Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineer in tracking the progress of completed actions and monitoring the effects of completed actions.
- Assist in review of Spares and their association with corresponding equipment in SAP where required.
- Up-to-date record keeping of all relevant reliability data, drawings and reports.
- Maintain Instrument & Electrical Reliability Recommendations data base and follow up on recommendations closure.
- Develop Monthly condition monitoring reports and Asset Integrity metrics.
- Support Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineers in performing QA/QC audits.
- Support Instrument & Electrical Reliability group in all compliance activities.
- Provide support to Instrument & Electrical Reliability group engineers in new and retrofit Instrument & Electrical projects.
- Exhibit good planning and time management skills.
- Demonstrate excellent coordination with other team members on common technical issues.
- Keeping abreast with technical modifications/improvements being implemented at plant site.
- Support Maintenance technicians in resolution of reliability issues and complex troubleshooting.
- Contribute to the development of all Qatari employees.

- Implement all relevant policies, processes, procedures and instructions of Instrument & Electrical Reliability Section so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across Instrument & Electrical Reliability Section to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Reporting
- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate monthly reports and metrics to meet section and departmental requirements.
Qatarization
- Contribute to the development of Qatari employees. This accountability is applicable to expatriate employees only.

5. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education (for Reliability Technician with majors in Instrumentation)
Required (Qualification1 / Discipline): Diploma in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering Technology
Experience
Required (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): 3-5 years as an Instrument Technician in the Petrochemical / O&G
Preferred (Years2 / Job Level3 / Industry): Petrochemical and/or O&G in a senior tech position

Other Job Specific Requirements and/or Vocational Accreditations
- “Hands on” experience in provision of Maintenance support for field Instrumentation & related systems of a large-scale process plant.
- Good experience on Electronic Field Instrumentation such as SMART transmitters (Field Bus, 4-20mA, HART), control valves, vibration transducers, on-line analysers, custody flow metering systems, PLCs...
- Complete understanding of P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, data sheets, JBs layouts with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Well versed with Hazardous Area classification and selection of Instruments.
- Capable of developing ITPM plans and Job instructions in the assigned areas.
- Plant Instrumentation Spares management.
- Hands on experience on Maintenance Management System-SAP preferred.
- Familiarity with most used international codes & standards.
- Capable of supervising contractor manpower during project execution if required.
- Computer literate and capable of working independently with Microsoft Office.
