Investment Risk - Senior Associate

Our client is one of the worlds largest global investment house based in the Middle East. They are currently looking for an investment risk professional to join their international team.

1.  Underwriting & Diligence: Review investments under consideration by the firm, providing independent insights and supporting senior Risk underwriting team and CRO at Investment Committee
2.  Asset Management: Supporting senior stakeholders by conducting ad-hoc analysis on challenged and distressed positions, and delivering insights on where transaction risk profiles are evolving, key underlying drivers
3.  Total Portfolio Risk: Supporting ongoing monitoring of portfolio risk profiles. Working closely with the Risk Analytics and Total Portfolio Risk team and broader Risk department to leverage data to provide insights to senior stakeholders
4.  Valuation & Modeling: Working with Valuations to provide transaction-level insights and analysis to support quarterly valuation reviews
5.  Risk Governance & Compliance: Supporting in development of key procedural documentation, linked to overarching governance policy. Providing guidance to investment teams on policy, governance, limits, benchmarking, and risk reporting
6.  Portfolio Mapping: Using quantitative tools such as MSCI Barra to map new portfolio investments, and monitor and maintain existing portfolio risk mapping
7.  Research & Data Tool Evaluation: Evaluate external, third-party tools to improve research quality, workstream efficiency, quality of risk insights and overall portfolio monitoring
8. Contributing to the production, analysis and enhancement of reporting alongside additional project research and workstreams, generally broadening the impact and value of Investment Risk function to the organization

The ideal candidate will have between 8 – 10 years’ experience in either, Front-office: Private equity/credit, or other large asset ownership institution. Experience in Corporate finance or other advisory where you are part of the investment processes and due diligence would be well viewed.
