Piping Fabricator

Responsibilities

• Fabricate piping components and spools according to approved drawings and specifications.
  
• Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, spool drawings and material specifications.
  
• Measure, mark, cut, bevel, grind and prepare pipes and fittings for fabrication.
  
• Perform accurate fit-up of pipes, elbows, tees, reducers, flanges and other fittings.
  
• Work with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and other specified piping materials.
  
• Check dimensions, alignment, orientation and flange levels before welding.
  
• Coordinate with welders, pipe fitters, supervisors and quality inspectors.
  
• Use fabrication tools, grinders, cutting machines and measuring instruments safely.
  
• Identify fabrication errors and perform corrections according to approved procedures.
  
• Follow permit-to-work, PPE, housekeeping and site safety requirements.
  

Requirements

Requirements

• ITI, trade certificate or relevant piping fabrication qualification.
  
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Piping Fabricator.
  
• Oil and Gas, industrial, fabrication yard or shutdown experience is preferred.
  
• Strong ability to read piping isometric drawings and fabrication details.
  
• Experience fabricating Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel piping.
  
• Knowledge of pipe schedules, fittings, flanges, dimensions and joint preparation.
  
• Skilled in pipe measurement, cutting, beveling, fit-up and alignment.
  
• Familiarity with welding requirements, WPS and piping material identification.
  
• Ability to use measuring tape, spirit level, square, grinder and cutting equipment.
  
• Must pass the client’s piping fabrication trade test.

Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials, tools, and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments, outdoors, or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
