Rotating Technician

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes).
  

• Conduct equipment inspections, vibration analysis, and alignment checks.
  

• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical components including bearings, seals, shafts, and couplings.
  

• Carry out precision measurements using micrometers, dial gauges, and laser alignment tools.
  

• Assist in root cause analysis of equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and equipment history.
  

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, permit-to-work systems, and company HSE policies.
  

• Support commissioning and testing of rotating equipment after maintenance or installation.
  

• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve equipment reliability and performance.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  

• 3–5 years of experience in rotating equipment maintenance (oil & gas, power plants, industrial facilities).
  

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, lubrication, and alignment techniques.
  

• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.
  

• Familiarity with vibration monitoring systems and condition-based maintenance.
  

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
  

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials; work in confined or elevated spaces. Experience: Previous experience in insulation work is an advantage but not always required for helper roles. Knowledge: Basic understanding of insulation materials, tools, and techniques (training is usually provided for helpers). Team Player: Willingness to work under supervision and assist skilled workers. Work Conditions: Comfortable working in cold environments, outdoors, or at heights. Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; basic understanding of workplace safety signs and labels.
