1. Teaching the Language

  • Instruct students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Tamil
  • Explain grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, and pronunciation
  • Adapt teaching methods based on students' levels (beginner to advanced)

2. Promoting Literature and Culture

  • Introduce students to classical and modern Tamil literature
  • Teach poems, stories, and works by authors like Subramania Bharati and Thiruvalluvar
  • Encourage appreciation of Tamil heritage, traditions, and values

3. Lesson Planning and Preparation

  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and activities
  • Use creative methods like storytelling, role-play, and discussions
  • Incorporate audiovisual tools for better understanding

4. Assessing Student Performance

  • Conduct tests, assignments, and oral assessments
  • Evaluate students' progress in language skills
  • Provide feedback and support for improvement

5. Classroom Management

  • Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment
  • Encourage participation and interaction among students
  • Address different learning needs and abilities

6. Encouraging Communication Skills

  • Help students speak confidently in Tamil
  • Organize debates, speeches, and cultural programs
  • Improve both formal and informal communication

7. Supporting Individual Learning

  • Identify slow learners and provide extra guidance
  • Challenge advanced students with higher-level tasks
  • Promote inclusive and student-centered learning

8. Administrative and Co-curricular Duties

  • Participate in school activities and meetings
  • Organize events like Tamil literary clubs or celebrations
  • Maintain student records and reports
