Environmental Officer

The Environmental Officer adheres to best industry practices both in terms of result and

effectiveness in order to identify and distributes information on environmental programs that

incorporate sustainable development. This role encourages projects to apply environment

principles and participate in sustainable development programs and activities at local regional

and international levels; and keeps abreast of international developments that can contribute to

environmental best practices.

• Perform environmental assessments to identify potential risks hazards and impacts on
  health and safety.
  
• Develop and implement environmental management plans to mitigate risks and ensure
  compliance with regulatory requirements.
  
• Monitor environmental performance and compliance with applicable laws regulations
  and industry standards.
  
• Investigate environmental incidents accidents and non-compliance events to identify
  root causes and implement corrective actions.
  
• Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees and contractors
  to promote a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance.
  
• Manage hazardous materials and substances safely including storage handling
  transportation and disposal.
  
• Conduct air and water quality monitoring to assess environmental impacts and ensure
  compliance with regulatory standards.
  
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects facilities or operations to
  evaluate potential environmental risks and impacts.
  
• Obtain environmental permits and approvals for activities facilities or projects in
  accordance with regulatory requirements.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering Microbiology Environmental Science or related field.
  
• Minimum 3 5 years of total work experience.
  
• At least 2 years of relevant environmental experience.
  
• GCC experience is an advantage (at least 2 years).
  
• Familiar with HSE management systems such as *ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001*.
  
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
  
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  
• Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations on air quality water quality waste management and pollution control.
  
• Ability to conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  
• Skilled in environmental monitoring techniques for air water soil and hazardous materials.
