Offshore Methods Draftsman

Role purpose

Produce and maintain method drawings used for offshore execution: lifting/rigging sketches sea-fastening installation sequences temporary works layouts and method statements visuals to support safe construction and offshore operations.

Reporting line

Typically reports to Project/Construction/Methods Manager within a methods or subsea engineering group.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D/3D drawings that support offshore construction methods (installation sequences deck layouts equipment arrangements lifting plans temporary supports).
• Convert method engineering inputs into clear IFC/IFR drawings sketches and markups for offshore teams.
• Ensure drawings align with HSE lifting/rigging best practices and project constraints (vessel crane capacity access/egress).
• Manage drawing registers revisions and as-built updates; coordinate with engineering construction and QA/QC.
• Support offshore queries with quick turnarounds and accurate revisions.

Requirements (typical)

• Diploma in Drafting / Mechanical / Civil (or equivalent)
• Strong experience in offshore EPC / construction drafting 7 years)
• Proficiency: AutoCAD (must) often MicroStation / Navisworks / SolidWorks depending on project
• Understanding of lifting/rigging terminology temporary works and constructability
