Site Traffic Engineer (Roads O&M)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Site Traffic Engineer (Roads O&M) to join our team in Doha this role you will be responsible for managing and optimizing traffic flow ensuring road safety and overseeing operations and maintenance activities for our road network.

• Conduct traffic flow analyses and develop strategies to improve traffic circulation and reduce congestion
• Perform road safety assessments and implement measures to enhance safety for all road users
• Design and optimize traffic signal timing and coordination to maximize efficiency
• Utilize traffic simulation software to model and analyze various traffic scenarios
• Develop and maintain Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) to improve road network performance
• Oversee road maintenance activities and coordinate with relevant departments for timely repairs and upgrades
• Prepare technical reports presentations and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of traffic engineering principles in transportation projects
• Stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices in traffic engineering and road operations
• Ensure compliance with local and international traffic engineering standards and regulations

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Transportation Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field with a focus on roads operations and maintenance (O&M)
• Proficiency in traffic engineering principles and practices
• Strong knowledge of traffic simulation software (e.g. VISSIM Synchro) and CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
• Strong project management abilities and experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis tools
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Traffic Engineering certification (e.g. PTOE) is a plus
• Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and transportation planning is highly desirable
• Familiarity with local traffic regulations and standards in Qatar is advantageous
