Senior GIS Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Engineer specializing in Roads Operations and Maintenance (O&M) to join our team in Doha this role you will lead the development and implementation of advanced GIS solutions to support the management and maintenance of road networks in the region.

• Design and implement GIS-based solutions for road network analysis asset management and maintenance planning
• Develop and maintain spatial databases for road infrastructure and related assets
• Conduct complex spatial analysis to optimize road maintenance schedules and resource allocation
• Create high-quality maps reports and data visualizations to support decision-making processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data with other systems and workflows
• Manage GIS projects from inception to completion ensuring timely delivery and quality results
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior GIS team members
• Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and industry best practices in road O&M
• Ensure data quality and accuracy through rigorous quality control processes
• Develop and document GIS procedures and standards for the organization

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in GIS Geomatics Geography or a related field; Masters degree preferred
• Professional GIS certification (e.g. GISP) is highly desirable
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in GIS with a focus on roads and infrastructure projects
• Proven experience in Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of road networks
• Advanced proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS
• Strong skills in spatial analysis mapping techniques and database management systems
• Experience with remote sensing image processing and CAD software
• Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools
• Strong knowledge of transportation infrastructure and road network systems
• Experience in asset management and maintenance planning for large-scale infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to design and manage spatial databases
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex GIS projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and mentor junior staff
• Willingness to work on-site in Doha Qatar and travel as required for project needs
