SMAW 6R Welders

Responsibilities:

• Execute 6GR position welding (restricted joint) using SMAW and FCAW processes on carbon steel and alloy materials.
  

• Read and interpret welding drawings WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) and isometric sketches accurately.
  

• Prepare welding joints including beveling cleaning and fit-up to ensure compliance with specifications.
  

• Ensure weld quality meets ASME / AWS / ISO standards and project NDT acceptance criteria.
  

• Perform welding on structural frames pipe spools and pressure vessels for offshore platforms and shipyard projects.
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• ITI / Diploma in Welding / Fabrication or equivalent trade certification.
  

• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding including 3 years in offshore / shipyard / oil & gas projects.
  

• Must be qualified and certified for 6GR welding (SMAW FCAW) by an approved third party (ABS BV DNV etc.).
  

• Good understanding of ASME Section IX AWS D1.1 and API 1104 welding codes.
  

• Ability to pass visual and NDT tests as per project qualification standards.
  

• Offshore certification preferred BOSIET / HUET / Medical Fitness Certificate.
  

Required Skills:

Lifting supervisor requirements: 1. Lifting Supervisor TUV QP Certification 2. Medical Fitness to Work ( Qatar Energy approved) 3.
