The Officer - Government Affairs is responsible for the delivery of Government Affairs services for employees. The incumbent facilitates and processes all required transactions through government authorities and embassies. S/he independently manages the assigned tasks to ensure that the services are delivered timely and with high quality.


  • Manages own work to deliver delegated task in a timely manner with highest quality achieved

  • Decides on best ways to handle transactions with authorities to achieve the required results

  • Executes all transactional interactions with Government authorities regarding Sidra’s employees relocation procedures

  • Coordinates Medical Commission checks for new full-time and short-term employees and their families through the designated government departments

  • Arranges and coordinates the relevant appointments for employees to finalize the finger print process

  • Ensures that all relevant documentation is gathered for the successful processing of medical commission checks and finger print process

  • Utilizes the online Government Affairs systems (e-government – Hukoomi) and Sidra’s immigration system

  • Operates and maintains Sidra’s Government Affairs database, updating it with all necessary employee data and tracking all expiry dates of employee exit permits, health cards and drivers licenses

  • Ensures new employees complete their Government Affairs processing and obtain their documents on arrival in Qatar

  • Keeps up to date with current application Qatar Government Affairs regulations and procedures as they relate to the welfare of employees and their status

  • Notifies Sidra employees of any Qatar Government Affairs updates when they occur

  • Adheres to Sidra’s standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

  • Adheres to and promotes Sidra’s Values

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.


QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – SELECTION CRITERIA

ESSENTIAL

PREFERRED

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role

Immigration or Ministry of Interior work experience

Job Specific Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Proven team player

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Fluency in written and spoken English
