Job Description :
The Offshore Shutdown Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering offshore shutdown / turnaround projects safely, on time, and within budget. Key duties include :
- Project Planning & Execution :
- Lead pre-shutdown planning, scope definition, and risk assessments.
- Develop schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards (Qatar regulations, company policies, and international standards like ISO 45001).
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.
- Liaise with clients (e.g., QP, QG, Shell, TotalEnergies) and subcontractors.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management.
- Monitor project expenditures and mitigate cost overruns.
- Ensure work meets technical specifications and quality standards.
- Oversee critical path activities, troubleshooting delays.
- Manage post-shutdown reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
Qualifications & Experience :
Education : Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related).Certifications : PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent (preferred).Experience : 10+ years in oil / gas shutdowns, with 5+ years in offshore projects.Skills : Primavera P6, SAP, risk management, contract negotiation.Soft Skills : Leadership, crisis management, cross-cultural teamwork.Market Wage in Qatar (2025) :
Daily Rate : $ 900 / day (depending on experience, client, and project complexity).Example : A senior PM for a major operator (e.g., QP, Chevron) may command $1,200$1,500 / day, while mid-level roles start at ~$800 / day.Rotation & Work Conditions :
Standard Rotation : (6x6).Work Environment : Harsh offshore conditions (12-hour shifts, limited connectivity).Demand : High in Qatar due to ongoing LNG / NFE (North Field Expansion) projects.
