To provide high-level technical expertise, advise and strategic guidance on all reservoir performance and management aspects including surveillance activities, performance monitoring, opportunities evaluation, and optimizing injection to maximize recovery.
The role supports the Reservoir Management & Opportunities Manager in ensuring the long-term sustainability of oil production and water / gas injection enabling informed decisions that extends the wells platue.
The Senior Advisor will focus on well performance diagnostics, reservoir behaviour analysis, identifying anomalies, and integration of subsurface insights into operational aspects in order to optimize and unlock short / mid-term potential.
This position also contributes to the continuous improvement of reservoir management practices and supports knowledge transfer across RGS teams
Key Accountabilities
Propose innovative solutions to improve production, injection and voidage replacement
Identify technology initiatives and support their maturation (from scoping to execution)
Consolidation across RMO team’s activities and studies and counsels to RMO Manager on arbitrations / prioritizations / optimizations
Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing
Represent the Reservoir Management team in technical discussions and collaborative forums
Act as RMO Manager when required.
Provide technical advice to RMO teams on the RSP / RESM activities and ways of improving them
Provide expert recommendations to optimize oil recovery through well-level diagnostics and reservoir behavior analysis
Suggest remedial actions, and required technical reservoir management transverse studies
Suggest improvements to existing processes and support related CMS documents and best practices
Support production teams with subsurface insights to guide operational decisions
Contribute to the annual Work Plan & Budget (WP&B) process with RESM focused inputs
Troubleshoot and solve problems related to production / injection shortage and identify root causes of wells behaviour deviations, and advise mitigation plans
Identify the pain-points of day-to-day constraints / shortfalls (gas lift, disposal, PWM, ..etc) and advise the quick fixes
Context and Environment Doha (Qatar) office.
Standard office hours, 5 days a week.
Qualification and Experience
20+ years’ experience within a Subsurface organization
Knowledgeable on surface facilities
Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum / Chemical engineering
Ensure compliance with reservoir management, surveillance and production strategies
Profile required
Experience in offshore or onshore gas / oil field environments, preferably within the Middle East region
In-depth understanding of Reservoir Management and Surveillance processes
In-depth knowledge of re-drills, workovers and opportunities, completion designs, and surface facilities
Proven experience in troubleshooting and problem solving of production / injection systems
Strong analytical thinking with a proactive approach to wells, reservoir and field performance evaluation
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
