Reservation Agent

Overview Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Revenue, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

Review reservation booked daily and review arrival report

Maintain accurate records of daily transactions and cash handling, including currency exchange and balancing a float

Responsible for various production reports and supply to each department concerned

Monitor telephone manner and general performance of reservations staff daily

Monitor and coordinate group reservations activity with the Sales Department

Follow up tentative bookings and update reservation status

Review no-show and cancelled reservations and process charges according to hotel policy

Review room blocking for long-stays and special group requests

Maintain cordial relations with commercial clients

Bring to the attention Front Office Manager when hotel availability status changes and prepare for necessary action

Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly position at all times

Maximize room occupancy at best rates and use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities

Knowledgeable in hotel and guest room facilities / services and ensure reservations agents are equally knowledgeable

Qualifications

Fluent in English language (written and spoken)

Knowledge of Opera (PMS), office software, and revenue analysis software

Ability to come up with unusual or innovative ideas to increase revenue

Excellent communication and people skills

Strong training skills

Detail oriented with a passion to provide guests with an exceptional experience

Able to facilitate increased levels of communication with other departments to maximize guest satisfaction

Positive and proactive in resolving problems, with reasoning and analytical abilities

Takes initiative and works through obstacles, taking personal responsibility for results
