Job Description
Job Purpose :
To ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s server infrastructure by managing servers, patching, backups, mobile device policies, and access controls, while supporting business continuity and security compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Server Management
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and / or Linux (SUSE) servers (physical and virtual).
- Monitor server performance, availability, and health using monitoring tools.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, VxRail, HCE).
- Maintain and Monitoring DR Site and testing DR site on periodic basis. Active Directory & Access Control
- Administer Active Directory including user / group management, OU structure, GPOs, and domain services.
- Implement and maintain access control policies based on least privilege and role based access.
- Audit and review access logs and permissions regularly.
- Manage and Maintain Group policies and procedures.
- Manage and Maintain DHCP, DNS services etc.,
- Manage and Maintain the ADDS.
Patch Management
Plan, test, and deploy OS and application patches across server and workstation infrastructure on periodic basis.Maintain patch compliance and generate regular reports.Coordinate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities.Backup & Recovery
Administer and monitor backup solutions (e.g., Veritas, DELL Networker, Veeam, Acronis).Perform regular backup verification and disaster recovery testing.Ensure data retention policies are followed and backups are secure.Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Configure and manage MDM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Intune, MobileIron, VMware Workspace ONE, MangageEngine).Enforce security policies for mobile and BYOD devices.Support remote wipe, encryption, and compliance monitoring.Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date documentation of server configurations, procedures, and change logs.Provide regular reports on system health, patch status, backup success, and access audits.Support & Collaboration
Provide Level 2 / 3 support for server-related incidents and service requests.Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for integrated IT operations.Participate in IT projects, upgrades, and migrations.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.5+ years of experience in server administration.Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.Experience with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, Ivanti).Familiarity with backup technologies and disaster recovery planning.Hands-on experience with MDM platforms and mobile security policies.Understanding of IT security principles and compliance standards.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Proactive and detail-oriented mindset.Preferred Certifications (Optional) :
