We are seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer (Pipeline) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering
  • Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent (preferred)

Experience :

  • 15 years postgraduate experience, with at least 10 years in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Ability to utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to offshore pipeline engineering and subsea facilities
  • Proficiency in pipeline engineering analysis software such as AUTOPIPE, CAESAR, SAGE, Orcaflex, ABAQUS (desirable)
  • Experience across all project phases : feasibility, FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, start-up
  • Expertise in detailed design aspects like lateral buckling, crossings, routing, riser and spool-piece design, ECAs, installation analysis
  • Proficient with offshore pipeline deliverables including mechanical & stress design, corrosion coating, CP, risers, clamps, free span, crossings, and installation analysis
  • Experience with subsea umbilicals and control systems
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in a multi-project environment
  • Good communication and presentation skills in English

    • Primary Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical design and engineering services for subsea umbilical and power cable projects
  • Ensure quality in accordance with company procedures, considering schedule, cost, and HSE
  • Conduct site surveys and oversee engineering activities from concept to commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, environmental, and safety policies
  • Review and update engineering standards and practices
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams for project delivery
  • Develop engineering scopes of work and review vendor documents
  • Develop and monitor project schedules and evaluate bid packages
  • Act as technical focal point for subsea facilities and support project execution
  • Manage interfaces with contractors and stakeholders, including operations and maintenance
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and startup
  • Mentor and train less experienced engineers
