We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Butcher to join our team at Swissotel Corniche Park Towers in Doha Qatar. As the Head Butcher you will lead our meat department ensuring the highest quality of products and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the meat department including cutting grinding and preparing meats for sale
- Manage inventory place orders with suppliers and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean sanitary work environment
- Train and supervise butchery staff promoting teamwork and efficiency
- Create attractive meat displays and ensure accurate product labelling and pricing
- Provide expert advice to customers on meat selection cuts and preparation methods
- Implement quality control measures to guarantee the freshness and quality of all meat products
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize sales and reduce waste
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce innovative meat products to meet customer demands
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Head Butcher or in a similar leadership role in the meat industryExtensive knowledge of various meat cuts preparation techniques and quality assessmentStrong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principlesExcellent leadership and team management skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fastpaced environmentStrong customer service orientation with excellent communication skillsProficiency in inventory management and basic budgetingPhysical stamina and dexterity to handle meat cutting tools and equipmentAbility to lift heavy items and stand for extended periodsFlexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidaysRelevant certifications in food safety or butchery (preferred)Proficiency in EnglishLife is a journey.
