Job Summary and Purpose
Responsible for implementing the strategic direction for the Safety & First Incident Response Team (FIT) within the Marine business (or Offshore & industrial Engineering when required) in accordance with the Integrated Management System (IMS). The role implements programmes that support the line to deliver safe, reliable and compliant operations. This Subject Matter Expert (SME) has deep functional expertise on safety theory and practice and is responsible for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) rules, regulations and matters, implementing HSE requirements within all project, vessel, yard, general areas, workshops, open areas and all buildings in Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions and aboard client projects.

Reports to : Head of Marine HSE & FIT.

Key Accountabilities
- Acts as SME & secretary to support the Operations Project Manager (PJM) in industry standard safety meetings such as the Vessel Safety Coordination Committee (VSCC) meeting. Assesses hot work areas, confined spaces and endorses Permit to Work (PTW) for PJM approval.
- Conducts daily project walkthroughs with the operational Project Team and provides regular reports, recommending corrective action and tracking observations and corrective actions on a daily basis. Conducts regular HSE inspections to ensure compliance with Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions rules, regulations and procedures, stopping any unsafe act or condition.
- Participates in the Management HSE walkthrough and follows up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Establishes and reports safety statistic analysis for both lead and lag indicators and synthesises this information for management diagnosis to enable timely corrective action or recognition.
- Prepares and maintains the HSE statistic and performance report after project completion.
- Monitors safe work practices and enforces compliance with High Impact Risk Activities (HIRA), stopping work where conditions or practices are unsafe.
- Follows up on risk‑related activities at workshops, ensuring safe practices by all employees, sub‑contractors and visitors and advising trades on incompatible work and safe execution of operations.
- Manages Permit to Work (PTW) issuance, renewal and validity conditions.
- Conducts and coordinates emergency drills, prepares drill reports and manages all emergency response inside the yard premises, including vessels and buildings.
- Maintains firefighting equipment records and provides training on firefighting techniques and first aid.
- Ensures sufficient stock of consumable items and equipment for projects, manages calibration with third parties.
- Prepares purchasing requests, manages daily and monthly store inventories.
- Prioritises well‑being of self and colleagues while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, participating in wellbeing programs and reporting concerns.

Degree / Diploma in OHS or equivalent.NEBOSH IGC or equivalent.Knowledge of OH&S Management System (preferable).Knowledge of Environmental Management System (preferable).Fire Fighting & First Aid certification.Experience
