About the Role
We are urgently seeking a QatarEnergy-approved Safety Officer (HSE Officer) with extensive experience in Oil & Gas and Industrial EPC projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system in compliance with QatarEnergy (QP) standards, local regulations, and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain the project HSE Management Plan in alignment with QatarEnergy and company procedures.
Conduct daily site inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments to ensure safe work conditions.
Enforce compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, method statements, and job safety analyses (JSA).
Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training sessions for all site personnel.
Ensure strict adherence to QatarEnergys Golden Rules of Safety and site-specific HSE standards.
Record, investigate, and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation, including inspection records, checklists, and audit reports.
Liaise with QatarEnergy HSE representatives during site inspections, audits, and meetings.
Ensure the proper use of PPE, equipment certifications, and safe work practices across all operations.
Actively participate in emergency preparedness drills and ensure readiness across all project teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HSE roles within Oil & Gas or Industrial EPC projects.
QatarEnergy (QP) approval is mandatory candidates must submit their approval certificate with the CV.
NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
Additional certifications such as IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, First Aid, or Firefighting are preferred.
Strong knowledge of QatarEnergy HSE procedures, PTW systems, and Qatar labor and safety regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
Must be currently based in Qatar with a valid QID, transferable visa, and ready for immediate deployment.
Preferred Attributes
Prior experience working on QatarEnergy (QP) or other major Oil & Gas contractor projects.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary construction teams.
Hands-on experience in pipeline, process plant, or shutdown operations.
