Overview Ensure all planning and preparations are completed prior to rig / barge movements. Hands-on role in jack-up rigs / barges' movement as the person in charge of rig / barge moves. Perform rig moves as a Pilot, working closely with rig management and the owner's insurance representative to ensure safety and adherence to QatarEnergy's and Rig's Operational Procedures Guidelines, preventing damage to the unit and assets. Act as the company's marine representative for QatarEnergy and JV partners during rig moves and marine operations. Ensure all records and documentation are completed upon completion of the move. Experience Experience in tanker or towing operations, ideally gained as a Chief Officer or Master, is advantageous. Familiar with the movement of all types of jack-up drilling units and capable of conducting rig moves from a hands-on perspective. Should demonstrate at least five years of conducting rig moves independently, with around 100 moves onto fixed structures using towing vessels only. Thorough understanding of marine operations related to the offshore industry and willingness to train existing workforce. Experience in other marine disciplines such as Offshore Oil Operations, Marine Inspection and Investigation, Marine Consultancy, DP Operations, Pipe Lay, Construction Barge Operations, and Tanker Moorings is desirable. Qualifications Unlimited Foreign Going Master Class I (Master Mariner) Certificate of Competency issued by or equivalent to the UK Department of Transport. Must be able to acquire a Class I Certificate of Competence and possess at least five years of senior experience in rig / barge operations.
