As a Lead Engineer (Hook-Up Lead Engineer - Work Pack & Permit Coordinator), you will report to the Hook-Up Manager and will be part of the COMP3 Project within the Hook-Up Department. How can you support us? Here are your responsibilities :
Lead and coordinate the development of discipline work packs (Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Structural).
Review and verify job cards, drawings, material lists, and associated documents for offshore readiness.
Interface with engineering and planning teams to ensure work packs are aligned with latest design and sequence of construction.
Coordinate with HSE and Operations teams for the preparation, review, and approval of PTW requirements.
Manage SIMOPS and isolation planning to ensure safe execution of hook-up and brownfield scopes.
Conduct readiness reviews, toolbox preparations, and offshore execution briefings.
Provide technical support to offshore construction teams during execution.
Track work pack progress and ensure close-out documentation is completed and submitted.
Liaise with client representatives for work pack validation and permit coordination as required.
Promote and maintain Saipem’s HSE culture and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related discipline).
Experience :
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in EPC / EPCI projects, with at least 5 years in offshore hook-up or brownfield environments.
Proven experience in work pack development and permit-to-work coordination.
Prior exposure to SIMOPS, construction readiness, and multi-discipline coordination.
Languages :
English (required); additional languages are an asset.
Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of offshore construction and hook-up activities.
Knowledge of PTW systems (e.g., ISSOW, ePTW, or equivalent).
Familiar with construction sequencing, HSE practices, and offshore risk assessments.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, layout drawings, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in MS Office and document control systems (EDMS, SharePoint).
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
Offshore survival and safety certification (BOSIET / HUET) required.
