  • Hold one weekly office hour to support student learning and lab‑related inquiries.
  • Provide TA support for the STIA Gateway course, including a 1‑credit weekly recitation.
  • Support student engagement through clear communication, timely feedback, and structured lab‑based learning.
  • Collaborate with GU‑Q instructional faculty to adapt existing laboratory exercises and, where needed, design new labs aligned with the ESS track.
  • Ensure lab activities reflect current environmental science methods, sustainability principles, and experiential learning best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab pedagogy, materials, and assessment tools.
  • Oversee daily lab operations, including ordering and inventory management of materials, consumables, and equipment, preparation and setup of laboratory activities, cleaning, organizing, and maintaining equipment and workspaces.
  • Oversee the routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment (including pH/EC meters, microscopes, balances, sensors, and environmental testing kits), arrange required repairs; demonstrate and manage the safe, correct use of equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory hazard controls, including procurement and upkeep of PPE and safety equipment (spill kits, eyewash stations), and the safe storage, labelling, and disposal of chemicals and samples.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional safety policies, environmental regulations, and best practices in laboratory management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including SOPs, safety assessments, and equipment logs.
  • Provide logistical and technical support for field excursions, environmental sampling, and other experiential learning activities.
  • Assist faculty in planning and executing field‑based modules that enhance student understanding of environmental systems.
  • Ensure field activities meet safety, risk‑management, and academic standards.
