Summary As a Consultant in Cardiology you will provide specialized care of patients with cardiovascular diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams, maintaining high clinical standards, and driving departmental performance improvements.
Education / Qualifications Required :
Basic medical degree from recognized institution
Post‑qualification certification
Qualification Source from : North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
USA :
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) – Cardiology
Canada :
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) – Cardiology
UK & Ireland :
CCT in Orthopedic Medicine and GMC Specialist Register
Australia & New Zealand :
Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) – Cardiology
Western Europe :
Equivalent board certification
Experience Post‑Qualifications :
Minimum
(5) years
of experience as a Consultant in Cardiology
License :
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Responsibilities / Duties :
Evaluate and manage patients with various cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, and congenital heart disease.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute cardiac conditions, including pre‑ and post‑operative cardiac assessments and surgical consultations.
Perform and interpret cardiac investigations such as stress testing, EKG, Holter, echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and pacemaker insertions.
Develop individualized treatment plans (medications, lifestyle advice).
Collaborate with surgeons, dieticians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in on‑call duties for cardiovascular emergencies.
Uphold medical ethics, comply with hospital regulations, and follow CBAHI / JCIA standards.
Lead and participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives.
Supervise, mentor, and train junior physicians and medical staff.
Engage in ongoing medical education, teaching, and clinical research.
Ensure patient rights, confidentiality, and maintain accurate medical records.
Proven competence in complex cardiovascular case management and advanced cardiac procedures.
Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
Commitment to best practices, education, and healthcare quality standards.
