Job Purpose / Objective
Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations through continuous process optimization and improvement initiatives across the organization’s facilities. Identify and develop value-driven process enhancement opportunities to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness. Key Accountabilities
Process Support Engineering Investigate and resolve production issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability.
Proactively seek opportunities for process enhancement, introduction of new technologies, and application of best practices to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Maintain a deep technical understanding of production processes and apply this knowledge to optimize performance and ensure compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on objectives and drive results.
Enhance monitoring systems for process performance, including product yields, quality parameters, flow rates, catalyst productivity, and transfer conditions. Develop and utilize advanced tools for process assessment and performance optimization.
Provide effective solutions during plant upsets and operational issues, recommending changes to procedures and settings. Review and update documentation, including control narratives, ESD procedures, alarm indexes, PID drawings, control valve datasheets, and other critical process-related records.
Develop detailed process designs and manage the full lifecycle of engineering packages, from concept to startup, in close coordination with Operations and Project teams.
Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC) activities, providing technical expertise to ensure safe and feasible implementations.
Contribute to project development by preparing scope documents and design packages for plant modifications, including during normal operations and planned Turnarounds.
Apply simulator modeling expertise for troubleshooting and performance improvement of process units.
Mentor and train junior engineers, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing. Assist in developing training content and supporting internal capability building.
Provide engineering support for equipment inspections and integrate findings into process recommendations.
Conduct risk assessments for process activities and implement measures to mitigate operational and environmental risks.
Align process improvements with internal and external stakeholder requirements. Act on feedback to meet or exceed expectations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Leverage data analytics tools to monitor process trends and performance. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to support data-driven decisions.
Conduct thorough root cause analyses for process failures using standard methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys), and work cross-functionally to implement corrective actions.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement initiatives to meet budgetary goals while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Support tender evaluation and vendor selection processes for chemicals and process equipment. Lead efforts in reviewing and approving new chemicals for use.
Policies, Systems, and Procedures Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Support the implementation and documentation of systems and procedures aligned with corporate and industry standards.
Maintain updated records of processes and compliance activities, and participate in audits to ensure adherence to safety and quality systems.
Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE) Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, environmental, and security regulations.
Lead engineering initiatives to reduce environmental impact and eliminate process safety and personal safety incidents.
