Kitchen Steward

Overview

Our Ambassador will :

• Responsible for the cleaning duties within the kitchen or food preparation area, including the cleaning of cooking and general utensils used in a restaurant and / or a kitchen. Maintain a high level of workplace hygiene and safety in the kitchen and related areas. Assist with the assembly and preparation of ingredients for cooking as required.
• Cleaning, sanitation and storage of all cutlery, crockery, kitchen equipment and appliances, using either industrial washing machines or hand washing as appropriate.
• Cleaning of walls, floors and general kitchen work spaces, working to cleaning schedule as prescribed for the area.
• Cleaning of food storage areas including fridges, cool rooms and dry goods stores, ensuring that principles of food hygiene are being observed; report any hazards or problems to Executive Chef.
• Remove rubbish regularly, ensure that kitchen and waste areas are free of refuse. Clean industrial bins on a daily basis.
• General maintenance and cleaning of the loading dock.
• Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
• All other Kitchen responsibilities.
