Job Purpose
To perform specialized maintenance, repair, and installation services for all heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal climate control, equipment efficiency, and occupant comfort within the facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive & Corrective HVAC Maintenance : Execute routine and complex Preventive Maintenance (PM) on a variety of AC and refrigeration equipment, including packaged units, split units, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems.
- Diagnosis and Repair : Troubleshoot and repair faults in HVAC and refrigeration systems, covering issues related to compressors, motors, fans, pumps, electrical controls, thermostatic systems, and refrigerant circuits.
- Refrigerant Management : Safely handle, recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Performance Optimization : Calibrate thermostats and controls, clean coils and filters, and adjust system settings to maximize energy efficiency and cooling / heating performance.
- Documentation : Accurately record all service and repair activities, including pressure readings, temperature logs, refrigerant usage, and parts replacement, in maintenance reports.
- Safety Adherence : Strictly follow all established safety protocols, including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures, when working on electrical and mechanical components of the systems.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education : Technical diploma or vocational certificate in Air Conditioning, HVAC, Refrigeration Technology, or a related mechanical trade.Experience : Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an A / C and Refrigeration Technician, specifically maintaining commercial or industrial HVAC and cooling systems.Skills :Proven expertise in the brazing, welding, and leak detection required for refrigeration line repair.
Strong working knowledge of electrical components and controls associated with HVAC equipment.Proficiency in reading technical diagrams and troubleshooting electrical and refrigerant flow issues.Current certification in safe refrigerant handling is highly desirable.
