QC Inspector (Welding / Coating / Pipeline)

Overview

mselect is looking to hire a QC Inspector (Welding / Coating / Pipeline) for a oil and gas operator in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas Downstream Industry. Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that the quality requirements of the fabrication, construction and installation activities, as detailed in the client’s main contractor-approved QC procedure and plans, are implemented in accordance with the client’s approved project documents
• Ensure that contractors, subcontractors and vendors have the required competent resources, implant internationally acceptable practices and deliver a product in compliance with corporate and project quality requirements
• Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities and ensure that all welding joints are welded as per approved WPSs
• Attend all PQR’s mechanical testing to ensure complete implementation of corporate standard requirements
• Witness all contractors’ welder\'s qualification tests and evaluate their visual and NDT results
• Witness all site or fabrication yard NDT daily activities, carry out interpretation for test results, and evaluate the findings outs
• Monitor the stage (in-process) inspection of offshore steel structure fabrications, and top-side facilities at contractor fabrication premises and verify the product conformity to corporate standards, project specs, and international codes / standards
• Report daily to the QA / QC engineer and advise him on the client’s main contractor compliance with contract procedures and standards and any matters affecting quality
• Manage all preparatory and coating work carried out at the contractor’s or subcontractor’s premises which shall be subject to planned inspection
• Carry out systematic inspection at each stage of surface preparation, painting / wrapping and repair works
• Verify the implementation of the proposed inspection system for all preparatory, painting and wrapping work via a series of hold points in the work schedule, from which the contractor shall not proceed until he is given formal clearance by the engineer
• Identify all defective or non-conforming work at each stage shall be rectified to the required standards
• Witness all contractors’ painters and blaster\'s qualifications carried out by paint manufacturers and evaluate their associated testing results
