Linum Consult’s client is a major international company that works within the energy sector. They are currently seeking a Head of Power Construction Projects with both Engineering and Business Management skills to be based in their Doha office. RESPONSIBILITIES Executing and delivering the construction of power plant projects at different stages of development or construction, including land acquisition and related matters, permitting and licensing, construction, testing & commissioning, contractors, vendors, and supply chain management, and local and international regulatory compliance Developing and implementing methods and procedures for monitoring the projects, and compiling and presenting reports to management Building strong working relationships with market research firms, including external consultants and auditors, and any other key sources for relevant market information Ensuring high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information Coordinating with the Business Development, M&A, and Asset Management teams; assisting and providing inputs as needed during due diligence exercises and preparing bids, etc. Ensuring a smooth handover of projects to Asset Management Ensuring that the Chief Business Development Officer is kept updated with the latest projects’ status PROFILE Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering, ideally with an additional degree in Business Administration At least 15-20 years’ development and construction experience of power plants, with 8-10 years in a similar position within the power industry Very strong understanding of all technical aspects of project construction and development Good understanding of the regulatory and legal requirements in the construction of various power plant technologies : Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plants (CCGT), Simple Cycle Power Plants, Coal Fired Power Plants, Peaker Power Plants etc. Solar or wind power projects experience would be advantageous Strong business acumen, with excellent analytical skills and the ability to make tough decisions with limited information Fluent in spoken and written English APPLICATION PROCESS If you feel that you have the right background of experience to take up this challenging position, then please formally submit your CV along with your current financial package detailsfor the attention ofFrancis Ryan If your application has been successful, then we will contact you within 72hrs.
