Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and supervise daily pipe fitting and fabrication activities onboard vessels and in workshops. Review isometric drawings, marine piping diagrams, and work packages to assign tasks to fitters. Ensure correct materials, fittings, valves, and consumables are used per project specifications. Supervise fabrication, alignment, fit-up, and installation of marine piping systems (bilge, ballast, sea water, fuel oil, air, and hydraulic systems). Monitor and guide the team during hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of pipes. Coordinate with welders, riggers, mechanical fitters, and QA / QC inspectors for proper sequence of work. Ensure compliance with class society standards (ABS, DNV, BV, LR) and shipyard quality procedures. Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma / ITI
in Mechanical or Marine Engineering. Minimum 6–8 years of experience in shipyard or offshore projects, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of marine piping systems, materials, and fabrication techniques. Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings, isometric sketches, and standards.
