Assistant / Associate Professor – Mechanical Engineering Overview University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022 and is the first national university specializing in academic, applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. Responsibilities
Develop, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of courses within Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance Engineering) and related diploma, degree, and graduate programmes.
Evaluate student progress, manage learning environment resources, and maintain course portfolio documents required for programme review and accreditation processes.
Engage in instructional and new programme development and enhance applied research and innovation.
Liaise with industry and other educational institutions, participate in industry advisory committees, and coordinate, manage, and supervise final‑year / capstone projects.
Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements
A PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (e.g., Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Engineering Design) from an internationally recognised and accredited institution.
Minimum five (5) years of academic experience after the PhD.
Minimum three (3) years of industrial experience related to the field of study.
Competency in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
Ability to apply varied teaching approaches in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
Proficiency in educational technology platforms.
Proficiency in CNC, Machine Shop, or CAD / SolidWorks (familiarity with other CAD / CAE software is a plus).
Demonstrated academic and information literacy skills.
Demonstrate ability to initiate and conduct independent applied research with potential for national and international impact.
Professional recognition and standing amongst peers.
Proven track record in publication and firm plans for generating research income.
Commitment to applied and experiential learning as a pedagogical focus.
Design, develop, deliver, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools and resources.
Digital literacy and fluency in technology systems; ability to model and facilitate current and emerging digital tools for research and learning.
Ability to develop technology‑enriched learning environments that enable active student participation.
