Accountabilities The Application Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships with assigned business lines and coordinating service requests between the Business and the Digital Business Solutions (DBS) team. The role ensures optimal performance, stability, and availability of applications and systems, while aligning with enterprise architecture standards to position DBS as a value-driven business partner.
This position specifically oversees petroleum-related applications in collaboration with Senior Application Engineers (SMEs), supporting the Drilling & Wells, Reservoir, and Geoscience departments. The role involves managing and maintaining business-critical applications, minimizing downtime, and implementing effective solutions and continuous improvements.
Key Activities
Provide daily technical support to the
Drilling & Wells
and
Reservoir & Geoscience
departments.
Collaborate with the DBS Business Partner and Senior Application Engineers to address operational and project needs.
Coordinate with internal DBS departments and contribute to digital improvement initiatives.
Engage with external vendors for software troubleshooting, upgrades, and performance optimization.
Manage software contracts, licenses, and vendor relationships.
Advise end‑users, business focal points, and DBS colleagues based on strong technical and functional expertise.
Maintain accurate and updated technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and SOPs.
Monitor service availability, usage metrics, incident reports, and system change statistics.
Implement new business solutions in compliance with DBS standards, focusing on reliability and cost efficiency.
Participate as a subject matter expert (SME) in digital transformation use cases for the designated business line.
Qualifications & Experience Education & Technical Skills
Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science ,
Engineering , or a related field.
Minimum
6 years of experience
in IT, with strong exposure to application implementation and maintenance.
Experience in the
oil and gas industry
is essential.
Solid project management skills and familiarity with structured administrative environments.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in fast-paced settings.
Strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Fluent in
English , both spoken and written.
Excellent interpersonal skills, pragmatic mindset, and a collaborative attitude.
