Job Summary and Purpose Provides the technical technological problemsolving ability of production engineering process and planning abilities to lead Work teams and control production process for executing work including repair installation modification activities to a high quality auditable standard that is consistent with contract work scope statutory code requirements Integrated Management System IMS procedures design parameters site survey input and vendor data Accountabilities 1 Interpret detailed work scopes for rudder propeller and shafting systems across assigned ship repair marine and offshore projects to identify critical path activities and risk factors impacting turnaround time 2 Analyze engineering and construction drawings to formulate repair and overhauling strategies schedules to align plans with client specifications classification society standards and vessel docking and undocking schedules 3 Estimate manpower manhours and tooling requirements through coordination with the Machinery Section Manager to ensure timely availability of skilled personnel lifting gear and precision instruments to complete the ship repair projects on schedule 4 Lead a diverse team of supervisors group leaders and mechanical fitters to ensure execution aligns with Work Instructions IMS policies and drydock safety protocols while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration 5 Monitor job progress using project scheduling tools Track actual vs planned manhour consumption and report deviations to the Machinery Section Manager Head of Afloat Repairs and Production Engineer 6 Enforce quality control checks during critical operations such as shaft withdrawal refit rudder drop measurement rudder removal refit shafting alignment and seal replacement jobs to ensure full compliance with safety environmental and health standards 7 Align job completion with drydock schedules and budgeted manhours by providing timely updates and technical feedback to internal stakeholders and ship owners Incorporate client inputs into work sequencing 8 Manage issuance of Subcontractor requests SCR Work Completion Forms WCF Work Inspection Forms WIF foreman chits Permit to Work PTW Site Instructions SI and Technical Site Queries TQR to maintain accurate documentation for class surveyor review and internal audits 9 Instruct supervisors on job execution and Work Instructions to address scope variations through formal TQR SI and ensure alignment with contractual obligations and technical feasibility 10 Represent the machinery team in internal coordination meetings and client briefings through articulating technical challenges and proposing solutions during crossfunctional discussions 11 Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for all personnel including subcontractors to monitor adherence to work instructions PPE usage and permittowork systems 12 Provide technical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities in resolving complex issues arising during the forementioned jobs related to ship s propulsion system and steering systems 13 Prioritize wellbeing of themselves and their colleagues while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment Adhere to all health safety protocols participate in wellbeing wellness programs and promptly report any concerns regarding the wellbeing of oneself others in order to foster a culture of best practice Competencies Achievement Oriented Collaboration Teamwork Customer Centricity Drive Vision Empower Nurture Talent Interactive Communication Solution Oriented Key Result Areas Productivity Set drive KPI Safety Foster zero harm culture Quality Implement zero rework principles Cost reduce rework and enable timely delivery Interactions and Working Relations Internal Manager Head of Workshop Afloat Head of Afloat Repairs Project Managers Foremen Supervisors Workers Purpose To supervise guide and enforce safe productive and quality work practices within work groups that are compliant to Safe Health Environment ualit Securi standards External Clients Sub Contractors Service Engineers Surveyors Purpose Coordination and settlement of production issues and feedback on the project deliverables Qualifications Experience and Job Skills Qualifications Degree in Naval Architecture Marine Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree Certificate of Competency Marine Engineer Officer Class 3 to 1 Motor Ship or its equivalent Experience At least 7 years of relavent experience in leading repair overhauling of ship s propulsion and steering systems including shaft alignment rudder drop checks and propeller repairs You will be redirected to the company website to apply for this position
