Legal and Compliance Officer

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Legal and Compliance Officer to provide guidance and oversight across a range of compliance and legal matters. The successful candidate will support the implementation of policies, ensure regulatory compliance, conduct investigations, and deliver training to strengthen the organisation’s governance and risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on compliance‑related legal matters, including Export Control and Sanctions, Competition Law, Personal Data Protection, Anti‑Money Laundering, Anti‑Bribery and Corruption, and Whistleblowing.

Draft, implement, and maintain policies and procedures, such as Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Sanctions, and SpeakUp policies.

Conduct compliance investigations to identify risks or deficiencies and propose appropriate recommendations.

Plan and deliver awareness‑raising activities and training sessions, including in‑person presentations.

Monitor regulatory changes and provide advice to ensure continued compliance.

Support management in assessing compliance risks and improving internal controls.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) required; Master’s degree (LLM or equivalent) preferred.

Minimum 8 years’ experience in legal and compliance functions, either in a law firm or in‑house / corporate environment.

Hands‑on experience with compliance topics, policy drafting, and implementation.

Strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

High personal integrity and attention to detail in legal drafting and terminology.

Compliance certifications are advantageous but not essential.
