Job Title : Senior HVAC Engineer
Location : Doha, Qatar (with potential offshore / onshore assignments)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team within the Project and Construction Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading HVAC engineering activities across all project phases, ensuring compliance with international standards and company specifications. This role involves technical leadership, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and oversight of HVAC systems in offshore oil and gas facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of HSE and Quality policies in all assigned tasks and projects.
- Develop and maintain HVAC standards, specifications, and procedures aligned with international codes (ISA, API, IEC).
- Act as Deputy Technical Referential Person (TRP) for HVAC discipline within the Engineering & Construction division.
- Provide technical authority recommendations and ensure timely responses to technical queries.
Project Execution & Coordination
Manage HVAC engineering activities under the Engineering Frame Agreement service contract.Supervise engineering contractors from pre-project to detailed and installation engineering phases.Coordinate with other disciplines (C&I, Electrical, Piping, Structural) to ensure integrated design solutions.Ensure cost‑effective execution of projects within budget and schedule.Design & Documentation
Prepare and review HVAC engineering documents including :P&IDs and HVAC sub‑system identificationSLDs, interconnection diagrams, control schematicsHVAC flow diagrams and cooling capacity calculationsRoom over‑pressure concepts and system interfaces (ESD, F&G)Evaluate and comment on vendor deliverables and participate in FATs.Lead technical reviews of bidder proposals and prepare recommendations.Systems Expertise
Familiarity with HVAC systems such as ACCU, SWCCU, water chillers, AHUs, condensers, evaporators, compressors, and fire dampers.Knowledge of PLC‑based control systems and HVAC instrumentation.Experience in HVAC retrofit projects, including temporary system deployment and constructability studies.Site & Vendor Engagement
Plan and supervise offshore site surveys for technical compliance.Conduct kick‑off meetings, JRA / work permit sessions for brownfield projects.Follow up on purchase orders and ensure timely approvals and conformity.Qualifications & Experience
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.Experience : Minimum 15 years in HVAC systems for offshore oil and gas upstream facilities, preferably in design offices, construction, or operating companies.Strong background in brownfield projects and HVAC retrofit.Proficient in international HVAC standards and multidisciplinary coordination.Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.Fluent in English (verbal and written).Work Environment
