An Accounts Receivable Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that a company’s finances are maintained by overseeing the billing and collection processes. This position is essential for managing the day-to-day accounts receivable functions, guiding a team of accountants, handling discrepancies, and ensuring that all financial records comply with legal standards and company policies. The Accounts Receivable Manager must be adept at analyzing financial data, developing effective collection strategies, and maintaining efficient billing operations to enable the business to meet its financial goals. They work closely with other departments like sales and account management to ensure smooth financial processes. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the accounts receivable team to achieve department goals.
- Develop and implement effective billing and collection policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure they meet company standards.
- Regularly review and analyze customer accounts to ensure timely payment.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on accounts receivable activities.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with customers and manage disputed accounts effectively.
- Oversee the auditing process and assist with the preparation of documentation.
- Identify and suggest process improvements for accounts receivable operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Manage cash applications and ensure receipts are properly recorded.
- Provide training and development opportunities for accounts receivable staff.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.A minimum of five years experience in accounts receivable management.Strong understanding of collection and billing processes and financial regulations.Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a team effectively.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for engaging with customers.Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail in financial matters.Role Level : Mid-Level
