Finance Manager (Marine industry)

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of financial strategies aligned with company goals.

Manage and monitor budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.

Prepare, review, and present accurate financial reports and statements.

Analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Identify trends, variances, and areas for cost optimization.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial policies.

Oversee internal controls and risk management measures.

Approve key financial entries such as SOA, FDA, and job closing journals.

Implement cost control strategies to improve profitability.

Support internal and external audit processes.

Lead and guide the finance team to maintain high standards and ethics.

Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders (banks, auditors, authorities, suppliers).

Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

Authority

Access to ERP system based on role.

Authorized to review and approve financial documents and reports.

Delegated responsibilities as per the DoA matrix.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Budget vs. actual cost variance.

Achieved cost savings.

Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.

Effectiveness of risk mitigation.

Audit results and regulatory compliance.

Timely completion of monthly / quarterly / annual reports.

Skills

Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis capabilities.

Deep understanding of financial regulations and international standards.

Proven risk management and cost control skills.

Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong time management and multitasking skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial systems (ERP).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

CPA, CMA, CFA, or CCP.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of finance experience.

At least 5 years in a leadership role within the marine industry (mandatory).
