Senior Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced #Senior_Planning_Engineer having experience in the oil and gas industry to join our team in DOPET. The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for overseeing project planning activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules, and supporting project managers in achieving project objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in planning for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, with proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office tools. Key Responsibilities : Project Planning : Review project scope and develop comprehensive project plans in outline and detail as required. Utilize Primavera P6 software to create project schedules, histograms, and manpower utilization reports. Liaise with project stakeholders to gather progress information and input into planning data. Lead other planners and quantity surveyors to meet project requirements. Cost Monitoring and Control : Monitor and control costs of the Project Controls Department to ensure financial stability. Forecast and program the long-term and short-term budget requirements of the Project Controls Department. Staffing and Management : Manage staffing within the Construction Operations department to ensure continuity of business. Interview and select expertise for the Project Controls Management Team. Supervise subordinate staff, assign work activities, and review performance. Manage priorities brought forward by the Project Controls Manager and Operations Manager. Attend ad hoc operations management meetings as required. Attend weekly management meetings to report on project progress. Policies, Processes, and Procedures : Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, and processes. Ensure compliance with all Project Controls Department policies, processes, and standard operating procedures. Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (QHSSE) : Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant QHSSE procedures and controls. Accountability, Responsibility, and Authority : Be accountable for acts and omissions within the role. Follow agreed safe systems of work and report any incidents or near misses. Have the authority to stop work if it is deemed unsafe. Reporting : Present reports in a timely and accurate manner to management. Provide updated Project Controls KPI results and analysis of business performance. Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering Course (required); Post-graduate degree or Master’s in any Engineering Course (preferred). Minimum of 11 years of solid work experience as a Senior Planning Engineer or in a management role within the oil & gas industry. Strong experience in EPIC projects (only) in the oil & gas sector. PMP certification preferred. Proficient in English; Arabic proficiency is an added advantage. Candidates with experience focused on shutdown and maintenance projects will not be considered.
