Job Summary The Cost Control Engineer coordinates all aspects of cost capturing, monitoring, and forecasting for their assigned project, ensuring proper documentation. This role provides comprehensive cost-control services and financial support for projects, maintaining project cost information. In collaboration with the Project Controls Lead, the engineer oversees variations and revisions to existing budgets. Job Responsibilities Monitor, control, and report on project costs, including cost history and forecasts. Maintain planned and actual cost and commitment schedules. Manage internal labor and project costs to stay within the allocated budget. Create Budget Transfer Requests as directed by project teams. Implement and ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures to maintain controlled workflows. Address no more than 5 non-compliances per month, with 100% resolution within 10 days. Manage onsite cost control to ensure all work is completed within budget. Monitor daily operations related to cost control to ensure compliance with standards and procedures. Process and approve MR, PO, S / C Agreement, PC, SRV, SIV within 10 working hours of creation. Develop cost structures for all activities, aligning with budgets and plans, and accurately assigning costs for effective control. Verify daily cost allocations and reallocate as needed within 10 working hours. Visit sites at least once weekly to verify progress measurements. Upload verified BCWP into the ERP system within 1 day after the cutoff date. Maintain internal labor and project costs within budget, flag deviations to management. Reflect workforce productivity and man-hour trends in MJCR reports. Perform cost analysis, advise management on cost overruns, and manage deviations using computerized databases. Produce weekly job cost reports within 3 days of week-end. Additional Responsibilities Assist in producing the monthly job cost report within 15 days of month-end. Monitor and review accounts for timely invoicing. Review client invoices and analyze variances, producing over / under invoicing calculations within 3 days of month-end. Follow safety, quality, health, and environmental procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Limit non-compliances related to QA or HSE to no more than 1 per month across all projects. Provide feedback on construction methods and accurate budget transfer calculations, aiming for no more than 10% correction at final approval. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of cost control software such as CCS (Candy) is advantageous. Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera, and project scheduling and reporting. Understanding of Quality Management Systems. ERP skills, preferably SAP, are required. Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role; GCC experience is a plus. Preferred candidates have experience in Construction, MEP, or Mechanical sectors. Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering fields.
