Position : Workshop Maintenance Planner
Purpose : This position is responsible for planning and coordinating workshop maintenance activities for the company's bus fleet, ensuring efficient use of resources, minimal downtime & compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Job Summary : The incumbent goal is to plan and coordinate workshop maintenance activities, ensuring optimal vehicle uptime and minimal downtime.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans & schedules for the fleet, ensuring optimal vehicle uptime and minimal downtime
- Lead the planning and scheduling of all workshop maintenance & repair activities, balancing fleet performance with operational requirements
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are prioritized effectively and completed within agreed timelines
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as vehicle downtime, repair costs & maintenance backlog
- Analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency & reduce costs
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on maintenance performance, budgets, & KPIs for senior management review
- Manage and supervise the workshop planning team, ensuring effective workload distribution & high-performance standards
- Monitor and manage the utilization of resources, including labor, materials & equipment to ensure efficient workshop operations
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities and equipment history
- Ensure compliance with Clinets's safety, quality, and regulatory standards, overseeing the proper documentation & reporting on maintenance activities
- Collaborate with fleet management to understand operational needs and adjust plans to ensure fleet reliability
- Identify and resolve any issues in the planning & execution of maintenance activities
- Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Provide leadership and support to the workshop planning team, ensuring effective communication & task completion
- Establish and maintain relationships with external contractors & vendors for specialized services and support
- Build and maintain good customer & supplier relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and cooperation
Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills
Qualifications
At least Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, logistics, operations management)Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in planning or logistics role, preferably in a maintenance or transportation environmentCertificates & Trainings
