Job Description : Executive Chef
Role Purpose : Responsible for overseeing the entire kitchen operation. This role involves managing staff, designing menus, ensuring food quality, maintaining kitchen safety standards, and managing kitchen finances.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop, plan, and implement creative and seasonal menus align with the restaurant's concept, goals, and budget.
- Maintain an updated menu that incorporates customer preferences, food trends, and nutritional requirements.
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Provide leadership and guidance, offering constructive feedback to maintain high standards and motivate the team.
- Manage employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing.
- Ensure the preparation of food meets the highest quality standards, both in taste and presentation.
- Monitor portion sizes, food garnishing, and plating for consistency and adherence to standards.
- Conduct regular tastings to ensure food quality, adjusting recipes as needed.
- Oversee kitchen inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Control food costs, minimize waste, and ensure the kitchen stays within budget.
- Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, sanitation, and cleanliness.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to avoid accidents and injuries.
- Regularly check that kitchen equipment is functioning properly and schedule necessary maintenance.
Oversee the financial aspects of the kitchen, including budgeting, controlling food costs, and improving profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES :
Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.Minimum 5- years of experience in the culinary industry.Preferably with experience working in fine dining, large-scale food production, or a high-volume kitchen.Information
