Rust Engineering Lead - Linux and Open Source at Canonical. Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and operating systems to the global enterprise and technology markets. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We have 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries with mostly distributed roles and in-person team meetings two to four times per year. We are hiring Rust Engineering Leads of all levels to drive the adoption of Rust into Canonical offerings, starting with Ubuntu and extending to our projects and open source initiatives. We view Rust as a key language for system-level services and a natural evolution from C / C++ for components from firmware and bootloaders to kernel and desktop.
