Job Description
Accountabilities
The job holder will be accountable for the following during project execution within the Major Projects Division :
Provide Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) expertise across all projects.
Supervise project NDT Inspectors to ensure consistent and proper execution of NDT activities, which are critical for asset integrity.
Implement company Technical Referential and applicable local and international codes.
Support detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, transportation, and offshore installation works.
Interface with Engineering & Construction (E&C) Department, particularly the Technical Reference Person (TRP), for deviation management impacting the Technical Referential.
Liaise with E&C and Welding TRP to ensure company standards are regularly updated regarding NDT, in line with international codes, best practices, and granted deviations.
Support updates and extensions of the Preferred Manufacturer List (PML) by assessing new manufacturers’ NDT capabilities.
Key Activities
Promote and comply with HSE instructions, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with company values, standards, laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintain confidentiality of all project-related information.
Participate in Contractors’ and Vendors’ Kick-Off and Pre-Inspection Meetings.
Conduct site missions to review and audit NDT activities across projects / packages.
Support and assist NDT specialists during surveillance and inspection activities.
Review, validate, and approve NDT procedures, records, and method statements.
Participate in qualifications for PAUT, ToFD, and Pipeline AUT systems.
Oversee NDT operator qualifications and testing.
Approve NDT-related documentation through the Company EDMS.
Provide quality and technical advice, promoting best practices within projects.
Address and resolve technical queries, deviation requests, NCRs, and concession requests.
Lead investigations of significant NDT-related quality failures.
Contribute to contractor and vendor qualification / technical audits.
Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly status reports, including KPIs, to the Head of Projects QA / QC.
Support project close-out activities, issuing lessons learned, quality feedback, and improvement notices related to NDT.
Requirements
Qualifications & Certifications (Valid / Required)
ISO 9712 (COFREND or equivalent) :
RT Level III – Radiography (conventional & computerized)
UT Level III – Conventional Ultrasonic Testing
UT / ToFD Level III – Ultrasonic Time of Flight Diffraction Testing
UT / PAUT Level III – Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing
PT Level III – Penetrant Testing
MT Level III – Magnetic Testing
VT Level III – Indirect Visual Testing
Additional Preferred Qualifications :
Ultrasonic Conventional Flaw Characterization
Advanced Guide Waves Ultrasonic Testing
Radiography Imaging Interpretation (Ir192)
Experience
Minimum 15 years in a similar role within the Oil & Gas industry.
Strong project experience in subsea systems (including pipelines) and offshore platforms.
Proven knowledge of automatic welding and PAUT systems.
Familiarity with ASME, API, DNV, AWS, ASTM, NACE, and ISO standards.
