Brief Description & Nature of Job

The selected Gantry Crane Operators shall safely operate the gantry & EOT cranes as per crane manufacturer operating instructions / procedure, relevant & prevailing Department / Section Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) , HSE policy, procedures & regulations.

1. To safely operate rail mounted gantry crane to lift, move, and position loads (products), such as billets & rebar of various sizes using hoisting attachments, such as electromagnets, hook, sling, electromagnets.

2. To observe load assemblage, determine center of gravity and safety of load.

3. To engage crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and

direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions

4. To clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanism

5. To conduct pre-operation & regular inspections of crane for defective parts and notify

supervisor / maintenance team of defects or malfunctions.

6. To prepare & record check sheets.

Information

Desired Skills & Experience

Qualification, Quality of Supplied Operator

1. Minimum education required is +2 (Higher Secondary)

2. Fair knowledge of computer (PC) operation.

3. Third party trained & certification for Safe Gantry Crane & EOT crane Operations as per the provisions in standards BS ISO : 0, ISO -1 & ISO 6, from QE & Qatar Steel-HSE approved institutions / establishments

4. Capable of reading, understanding & communicating in English language.

5. Minimum three years’ experience in Gantry Crane / equivalent crane operations preferably in steel industry.

6. Age minimum years & maximum years.

7. Able to communicate in English read, write and speak.
