We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy, Qatar for a Cost Estimation Engineer.

JOB PURPOSE

The Cost Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining accurate cost estimates for Major Projects, ensuring alignment with project budgets, forecasts, and financial policies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Cost Estimation : Serve as the primary liaison between Major Projects and Finance & Commercial Divisions for all cost estimation matters. Prepare, review, and coordinate project cost estimates for all phases, ensuring alignment with budgets, forecasts, and contract requirements.
• Cost Database Maintenance : Develop, maintain, and regularly update a structured cost database containing historical project data, unit rates, productivity norms, and vendor / supplier pricing.
• Change Management & Claims Support : Evaluate cost impacts of scope changes, variation orders, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Support Project Management in the assessment and documentation of claims and disputes.
• Monthly Reporting : Support the Senior Cost Estimation Engineer in project cost estimation and reporting and maintaining detailed records.

Profile

Ideally, you will have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ work experience, with at least 3-5 years in major projects. Candidates must have experience in Ammonia and Urea projects. For other roles, experience in major EPCC contracts is essential.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
