We are supporting a leading LNG company in Qatar to recruit a Quality Lead – Offshore for the NFPS Compression Project. This role is responsible for implementing offshore construction surveillance, ensuring effective contractor quality management, and providing continual coordination and advice to the Head of Quality.
Reporting and Relationships
Functional report to Head of Quality COMP3
No direct reports
Internal : Frequent contact with Project Quality Team and Transportation & Installation Team
External : Continuous contact with the Contractor and subcontractors
Job Context & Major Challenges
Based in Doha with frequent offshore visits
Analyse and prioritise project information for decision-making
Influence multi-cultural teams across global organisations
Manage offshore work locations and resolve complex issues efficiently
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational requirements
Key Accountabilities
Implement the Surveillance Plan for offshore construction activities including pipelay, hook-up, and installation, reviewing and approving Contractors and Subcontractors Inspection & Test Plans
Monitor welding processes, including procedure qualifications, welder qualifications, consumables control, surveillance of welding and NDE activity, KPIs, and corrective actions
Attend regular offshore meetings to monitor progress and resolve quality issues
Support Head of Quality in managing inspection resources via approved Site Inspection Services (SIS) agencies
Conduct Flawless Quality training programs with the Contractor to eliminate defects
Perform regular site walk-throughs to highlight quality and safety issues and identify improvements
Maintain inspection records in a database aligned with the completions management system
Implement Deficiency Management Program to track and resolve non-conformances
Participate in Quality Audit Program and Lessons Learned Program to continuously optimise offshore fabrication and installation processes
Implement Quality Reporting Program to monitor and report on offshore quality performance, issues, and risks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
Additional qualifications in Quality, Welding, or NDE inspection preferred
Experience & Knowledge
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Quality in the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role
Experience with Oil & Gas operators, contractors, or service companies
Experience in large-scale operating organisations in Operations, Projects, or Subsurface
Knowledge of industry quality systems, standards, and specifications
Technical & Business Skills
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence decisions through presentation, negotiation, and facilitation
Ability to develop and implement Quality Management Systems for the Oil & Gas sector
Ability to interact confidently with senior leaders and stakeholders
Strong analytical, organisational, and planning skills
