The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Under the supervision of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician may measure, mix, count, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Assist pharmacist to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including but not limited to : Intake and recording of all prescriptions received. Accurate packaging and dispensing of prescriptions. Providing patient counseling on the proper use of medication and possible adverse reactions. Polypharmacy counseling. Ensuring child-resistant packaging in accordance with FDA guidelines. Maintaining accurate and complete records of all prescribed medications. Developing and managing a formulary aligned with the population and services. Managing non-formulary, controlled medications, and other critical medications (e.g., resuscitation, medications unique to pregnant individuals). Adverse drug reaction reporting. Medication error reporting. Ensure frequently prescribed medications are FDA-approved and sourced from a US supplier or EMA-recommended sources. Infrequently used medications can be sourced from a trusted local pharmacy with Program Manager concurrence. Collect required data daily, including prescriptions dispensed and the number of patients receiving prescriptions; report data for monthly status reports. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including USFDA guidelines, in dispensing and clinical pharmacy operations. Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Performs tasks such as retrieving, pouring, counting, weighing, measuring, and sometimes mixing / compounding medication. Perform administrative duties such as answering phones and stocking shelves. Prepare prescription labels, select containers, and apply labels to containers. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain and monitor cold chain pharmaceutical, including vaccines, in all locations where cold chain items are located. Assist Pharmacist with monitoring monthly medication usage and determining required par levels. Assist Pharmacist with controlled substances procedures and accountability. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all communications with coworkers and clients, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment. Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage. Complete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies. Experience Required : 3+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program or higher in country of origin. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records. Education Required : Current and unrestricted license or authorizing document from country of residence. Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Physical Requirements : Work is normally performed in a deployed work environment. Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. Work involves bending, stooping, and lifting a minimum of 15 lbs. Other Special Qualifications : Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate. This position is unaccompanied. Must be able to obtain a base security clearance. Must be able to relocate to Qatar. A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in possession prior to relocation; you must maintain a current passport during your stay. Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
