Position at Al Jazeera Media Network
Job Purpose Summary :
Media Director is responsible for directing all gallery, outside broadcast, special events, special news coverage including critical zones. He supports the production fusing technical and creative elements to produce on-air news and programmes.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability :
- Direct all technical aspects of the studios and / or location productions, checking and switching between video sources, and taking full responsibility for the on-air output of the gallery during live news bulletins and / or pre-recorded programmes, including camera shots and graphics.
- Ensure the technical output of the newsroom / studio meet the requirements of the News and Programmes
- Work closely with newsroom and Creative team to determine and technically achieve the visual style of the channel’s news output
- Liaise with Senior producers in the Newsroom to bring the output to the highest standards
- Liaise with the engineering teams to ensure studio equipment is maintained regularly and functioning properly
- Liaise with News Operations on OB productions
- Ensure highest technical standards are achieved for the channels output.
Other Responsibilities :
Job Requirements / Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Film, Directing, Media, Communications, or related field diplomas and certificates.
A minimum of 6 years’ experience working in broadcast environment of which 3 should have been in a senior operational role in a News Production control room.
