Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Overview

The Sr. Civil / Structural Engineer is expected to function as the Lead Civil / Structural Engineer on smaller projects and be responsible for all discipline technical and scheduling matters pertaining to the assigned project. Qualifications

Typically 15+ years experience focusing on pipeline facilities Qatar Engineering license (MME / MMUP / UPDA) Mandatory prior experience working with Qatar Energy on relevant projects In-depth knowledge of industry standards and codes published by ACI, IBC, AISC, ANSI, etc., and ability to apply the standards to civil & structural analysis & design Knowledge of civil / structural engineering analysis & design computer programs like RISA 3D, MAT 3D, Foundation 3D, LPile, etc. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Consultancy experience with Kent, Wood, Worley, BCCES, or Technip Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer preferred Essential Functions

Assist in the preparation of proposals Prepare or review discipline project specifications Prepare or review requisitions for inquiry in support of purchasing Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings, Structural Steel for supports, Pre-fabricated pipe supports, and subcontracts Prepare or review technical bid evaluations for Pre-Engineered Steel Buildings, Structural Steel for supports, Pre-fabricated pipe supports, and subcontracts in cooperation with Procurement Department Prepare and review / approve proposals for Geotechnical Investigation & Topographic Surveys Develop or review site plans, grading & paving plans, building / equipment foundation plans & details as required by the discipline Prepare or review civil and structural calculations for the design of various civil / structural elements pertaining to the project Review plot plans and facilities for Civil / Structural requirements Coordinate with and provide liaison with client personnel relative to Civil / Structural activities Review and approve vendor documents Review and respond to the Request for Information from the project site during the construction phase Prepare or review engineering and design status reports, work plans and manhour estimates Review the discipline scope of work to be executed to ensure it matches project specification and / or the proposal documents as appropriate Accepts both short and extended term assignments to the site, client’s office, regulatory authority etc. as may be requested by the Chief Civil / Structural Engineer
