Operations Supervisor
Location : Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)
Job Type : Full-time, 2-year initial contract with possibility of extension
Work Schedule : 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday; 12 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF for single status; 30 days annual leave for couple status
Job Purpose
Supervise operational shift activities in an allocated work area to achieve and maintain optimum production levels in a safe manner. Oversee Panel Officers, Panel Operators, and field staff involved in monitoring and controlling equipment and process flows.
Reporting and Relationships
- Reports to : Head of Section
- Direct reports : 5–10
- Internal : Frequent contact with Head of Operations, Head of Shift, Operations Coordinator, and Operators; periodic contact with Safety Officer, Maintenance Senior Supervisors, Maintenance Foremen, Center of Expertise Engineers, and Asset Surveillance Team
- External : Periodic contact with interfaced operators as per communication protocol
Job Context & Major Challenges
Supervise operational shift activities in designated assets within onshore LNG, Sales Gas, Helium Plants, Refineries, Plant Utilities, CSP, and Terminal FacilitiesChallenges include initiating emergency response actions, maintaining extensive operational knowledge across processing units, balancing safety, people development, and procedure compliance, and motivating the shift team to meet high safety and reliability standardsKey Accountabilities
Plan, allocate, and supervise subordinate staff to meet operational targetsParticipate in developing and implementing production procedures, reviewing for potential enhancementsDevelop manpower plans and monitor progress, ensuring safety compliance and conducting WM site auditsSupport maintenance planning to ensure optimal equipment operation and minimal downtimeFacilitate work continuity, procedural compliance, and shift handoversInspect and control work execution in compliance with procedures, specifications, safety, and environmental standardsEnsure team competencies are met, identify training gaps, and implement development programsAct as Incident Controller during emergencies, providing first-line intervention and briefings to superiorsParticipate in RBWS, Risk Screening, Re-Hazop, and Safety Cases to ensure quality risk management inputPrepare regular shift reports and ad hoc reports as requestedQualifications
Completion of secondary school education (12 years) and a vocational training certificateExperience and Knowledge
Minimum 8 years of experience in the oil and gas sectorSubstantial operational knowledge of production equipment and control systems in designated areaTechnical and Business Skills
Strong leadership skillsOperational technical knowledge in supervised areaEffective communication in written and spoken EnglishProficiency with IT applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
